SATURDAY!!!

My hubby and I haven't had a Saturday off together since our wedding weekend in October. By some miracle I have today off from the Spa (I know who wouldn't want to be in a Spa on the weekend). So here is what is on the docket:

1) French Pressed Coffee, Cinnamon Rolls and Bananas
2) Making a big pot of vegetable beef soup to eat through out the day.

3) Studying Season 5 of Lost. Its crunch time since the Season Premiere is on Tuesday. (Controlling excitement)
(Here we are opening our wedding presents. Our friend Rotie made us Lost art. Awesome! I miss being tan)

4) Laundry- I have to do something productive.

5) Snuggling up with Scout!

Best part is that its suppose to rain all day!

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot

One of our goals for this Spring is to beautify our yard. While landscaping is the main focus, there of course has to be accessories. These wine bottle torches will look perfect scattered on our fence in the backyard.
For Step by Step (just thought of New Kids on the Block) instructions go on here to Design Sponge.

Can't wait til spring!!!

Ghost of Jackson Square

While uploading pictures in Snapfish I found this panoramic photo stitch I made from our Honeymoon in New Orleans. This is actually 3 photos I stitched together while visiting Jackson Square. Ironic that I just saw the Saints win the NFC Championship.

Dad- I'm sorry your Vikings lost. Matt and I were both rooting for MN the entire time.

Sweet Savannah

Matt and I consider Savannah as one of our special places.

When we first starting dating we went on a weekend visit and walked the entire historic district. Since that first trip we have been back 2 other times. We are lucky its only an hour and 45 minute drive from Charleston.

We always use to say if we were to sing a duet at a karaoke bar it would be Cyndi Lauper's 'Time After Time' hence the photos below.

What a difference 3 years can make. I can honestly say I helped with Matt's cool factor since we started dating.. I mean look at that haircut in 2007. Sorry babe- I love you!

Also if you need a great lunch place forget about Lady and Sons and go to Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. Talk about Southern Food that has not been dumbed down. I give it 10 thumbs up!

Flower Bombs

If you see an abandoned dirt lot in your city, why not spruce it up by bombing it?

Check out this idea from Fun Time Happy Garden Explosion. Its basically flower seeds surrounded in clay, which you throw into a lot/field and hope for rain.

Attn: Charleston Residents

Please take advantage of Charleston's Restaurant Week. There are only 4 more nights (ends Sunday January 17th) to experience some of the best places in town on a dime. I tried calling a couple of places and they said that they are being swarmed with reservations, so act fast. Go HERE to see the participating restaurants and their 3-4 course sampling menus.

This is a great way to enjoy an Award Winning Dining experience with out breaking the bank.

Of course I have to plug the Charleston Grill. Voted best restaurant in Charleston numerous times over.

Slacker!

Sorry I've been MIA. I just got back from Michigan from an appropriate snowflake themed wedding. Besides it snowing about 5 inches and it being below freezing it was a great time.

Here is a picture of my family {minus Matt}.

Awkward Weddings

If you had to choose one of these wedding themes which one would it be? I think I would choose Superheroes.

I Love Lamps

My mother taught me that lighting is one of the most crucial elements in a rooms design. So naturally its always one of the first things I notice in a room.

While flipping through an Ikea Magazine I found the Barometer Floor Lamp from Ikea. It is $49.99 and I imagine it would look wonderful in any room.
When I googled the lamp for images I came across the below photo. Oddly enough it is from Stephmodo's blog which I follow daily. I guess we must have similar personalities. How do you ask someone to be your best friend if you've never met before? Anyone else ever in this bloggers world predicament?

My Breath fogged up the glass...

So I drew a new face and I laughed.

If you like Jason Mraz's song I'm Yours, you'll surely love this little boys version. I can't get over his facial expressions.

Once I have a child, I am so getting them a ukulele. Stage mom? I think so.

Fun Fact for the New Year

The Classic song for everyones New Years is 'Auld Lang Syne'. But do know the translation? Auld lang syne" translates literally to "old long ago", also known as "the good old days". For complete lyrics go here.

So take a cup of kindness yet and have a great 2010! Happy New Year to all of my family, friends and readers. I had a wonderful and blessed 2009... I only hope 2010 brings me the same joy.
