Have a Great Weekend!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Weekend!
I am the Manager on Duty this weekend at The Hotel so unfortunately I'm not allowed to leave the premises. But I'm ok with that since Matt and I get to eat at all of the award winning restaurants and get Spa treatments.

I Love A2

I was so excited today that Design Sponge featured Ann Arbor, Michigan in their City Guide section. I grew up just north of the City and I lived here through out College. It's such a lovely college town filled with parks, museums, funky shops and great restaurants.

Can't wait for Christmas to visit and take Matt to some of my favorite places.

How Matt Spends his Mondays

When I first looked at this picture for some reason I did a double take when seeing his wedding ring.

Newsflash Kristen: This is your husband and he's adorable.

Looks like we are having fish for dinner.

Beach Hunt

As I mentioned before, Scout and I headed out to the beach yesterday for a Treasure Hunt. We are on an extremely tight budget here in the Ishee Household but I still want to decorate. So I thought I'd get to the beach and find some natural elements I can use for an art project I'll show y'all later.
I found a piece of driftwood that I quickly snatched up. I came home cleaned it and it will soon live on a shelf amongst books.

Book Worms

We organized a Book Club at work today.

It makes sense because all of the ladies I work with are big readers. We are always swapping books with one another so we might as well have an excuse to get together and drink wine too!

Is anyone else out there part of a bookclub?
Are there any books that we have to read? I would love any advice.
If you are in the Charleston area and like to join, email me at kristensquinn@gmail.com

Caramel Apples

Caramel Apples remind me of my dad.

Every fall my dad would take us kids (Meghan, Brady and myself) to the Apple Orchard. We'd pick our apples, enjoy cider and hot sugary donuts and drive home with the smell of autumn in our hair.

Once home my mom would always create something with our bounty. Either apple pie, apple cake, apple cobbler or even just some baked apples for dinner.

My dad would always make us caramel apples. Sure it was from the pre-packaged caramel that he just threw in the Microwave. That did not matter, it was still such a treat. The only problem would be he'd make them at 1:00 PM and we weren't allowed to eat them til after dinner. They would sit on the counter tempting us, much like those in the picture below. How do you like the Gourmet Caramel Apples???

1st Anniversary Recap

With Scout in tow we started the day with coffee and a bagel.

We headed over to the Old Village. The Old Village is the first community of Mount Pleasant. Matt and I used to rent a house in this neighborhood and we dream about moving back all the time. It is located on Charleston Harbor and has everything from a Bakery, cute little pharmacy, large parks and shrimp boats. We had our reception at Alhambra Hall which is in the OV and Matt actually proposed to me on Pitt Street Pier.

Here are a couple of pics from yesterday on the pier.
After the OV we went home. Matt watched the Mississippi State game. ( I'm a good wife) We then went downtown to my Spa and had massages. Afterwards they surprised us with a bottle of wine and a cheese and fruit plate which we ate poolside. With foggy relaxed heads we got all dolled up for dinner.
We first went to Social for some wine. The menu looked great but we were saving room for dinner.
We went to McCrady's for dinner. It was absolute perfection! We ate entirely way too much. My favorite was the surprise first course of cucumber gazpacho over the local crab. Ridiculous!!! Thank you Spa girls and Jason Miller for making our Anniversary sooo special.
Just realized I'm wearing that stinking sweater in all the pics and didn't get to show off the 2 cute dresses of the day... Darn.
