Darlin' its almost time

So we are officially 4 days away from the big day... surprisingly I am not nervous. Just super excited. Everything we have planned is a reflection of Matt and I. The day will be fun, laid back, with a lot of surprises. Here is one clue of the festivities:

The Field Day Results

I am still smiling from yesterdays field day shower. I didn't know what to expect arriving at the field but i was greeted with a t-shirt, fried chicken and a cold beer. I love my friends.

The competition was fierce and trash-talk was flowing. There was honestly not a dull moment. Below are a couple of pics:

THANK YOU everyone for organizing and playing. Matt and I are so lucky to have such great/fun friends. BTW.. we should totally do an event like this every month.

Darlin' Its so on

Today is Field Day... YAY!
My bestie is throwing us a Field Day Shower today. We are so excited. It's going to be boys vs girls which I'm kind of worried about. All of the boys are college athletes and are still involved with coaching somehow. While the girls believe Sundays should involve Mimosas and naps. It shall be interesting.

When I googled 'Field Day' this is the image that popped up. It is a Japanese Field Day. Hopefully Sara Ruth doesn't have this on the itinerary

Darlin' I love me some PIE!

:::Kristen Funfacts:::

1) I love pie

2) I love anything personal sized

3) I can get excited over the smallest things

I saw this at Williams-Sonoma and I literally swooned!

Hallie Wins

My friend Hallie totally wins hands down for the most creative RSVP.
Thank you so much for thinking about us. It is currently hanging in our foyer and it makes me smile every time I pass by.

Below is a pic taken at Hallie's Roaring Twenties Bday Party. Of course she looked like she belonged in the musical Chicago, while my cheap flapper dress belonged in a Chicago Dumpster.

Tying the Knot Ring

How great is this little ring? It's shaped like a heart and is soooo dainty.

Nowadays everyone is on tight budgets so imagine a guy proposing with this sweet ring. I think I may just buy it and wear it on my right hand.
Currently is sold out by seller but contact the artist here on Etsy. Cost is about $20. Simply lovely.

Darlin' I don't want to ever grow up.

So in the Ishee** rumor mill there is talk of Matt's sister moving to Charleston. We are very close with Britton and her husband DJ. Also they have the 3 most adorable kids. I believe that one day I will probably kidnap them all. Here are a few pics of Ann Elise, Meredith and Jake.

**Ishee is Matt's last name.. Yes, that's right I will be Mrs. Ishee.

As I was browsing through some other blogs I came across this little gem here on Black Eiffel. I figure once these kids move here I will have to throw a bday party for one of them using this Peter Pan theme.

Reflecting on this date

Finding it hard to believe that it's been 8 years since the 9/11 attacks. I will always remember where I was when I heard the news. I was a Senior in High School and our Vice Principal announced to the school that 'Our Great Nation is Under Attack.' I immediately remember my friend started weeping because her uncle worked in the Pentagon. The upperclassmen were escorted to the library to watch live footage. It is a day I will never forget.

Now 8 years later I feel our country is even more divided. How could we go from being such a Great and Proud Nation to one that is literally tearing at the seams? So many people are quick to blame President Bush. All I can say is get your nose out of People magazine and learn the facts. At least the rest of the world was listening to us and respecting us while he was President. Now they will not even shake Obama's hand. A total slap to our entire nation.

My mom is currently in Washington supporting the largest tea party to date. Tomorrow they are walking on the mall. She has been working as a RN basically since she graduated college and has worked for U of Michigan Hospital for almost 20 years now. Of course the entire hospital or any health care worker is against the Health care plan. Because if it passes level of patient service, advancement of medical technology and of course going into tremendous debt will certainly follow. Basically I am proud of her and what she is fighting for. Not for only the health care plan but the other corruption that is happening in D.C. As her t-shirt reads:

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

May we never forget what foundation and patriotism this country was built on. It is; We the People... NOT We the Followers of Obama... JUST SAYING.
Here is a pic showing us enjoying everyday American Freedom. Note: we own the home, Mason Jar full of Sweet Tea and the Stars and Stripes waving Proudly. And I will not apologize for what I have earned. I am proud to live in this country. I just hope my children can have a similar upbringing.

God Bless America.

Darlin' I loved our Labor Day Together

It is official that we are only 25 days away from our wedding... YIKES. Of course I feel guilty because Matt and I spent 75% of our day in our bed. It was nice to relax and joke around with Matt the entire day. We started with coffee in bed and a Criminal Minds marathon. Granted I did work on wedding stuff on my laptop from my cozy place in bed. Also I did manage to get out of the house to walk 3 miles around the neighborhood. Sadly I did so wearing my pajamas which I am still wearing right now at 9:15pm. Gross.

Anyways, while I my laptop I came across these fun travel journals on Black Eiffel's blog. This would be fun to do on our roadtrip honeymoon...
