Gotta Run

I LOVE having Mondays off.. Though they are always filled with errands.

Today is nothing exciting... Vet, Gym and Laundry. Right now I'm watching the Martha Stewart show so of course I want to bake something.

What are you doing today? Are you being productive or destructive?

All You Need Is Pie

After dinner last night I was searching the house for something sweet. Since saltines with jelly just wasn't cutting it, I pulled out the pie crust i had in the freezer and the can of blueberries I had in the pantry.

I created the following recipe for individual Blueberry Pies
1 Can of Blueberries in Syrup
3 TBSP Sugar
1 1/2 TBSP Cornstarch
1 TBSP Lemon Juice
Butter
Pie Pastry

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

1) drain the berries and reserve the syrup.
2) combine the syrup, cornstarch and half of the sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat.
3) Gently stir in remaining sugar, blueberries and lemon juice.

4) prepare crust and put in pie plate. I used individual dishes. If you want a whole pie I would double the entire recipe.

5) Fill em up with the berry mixture and dot top of crust with butter
6) Bake for 30 minutes and let cool before you try eating. I burnt my tongue back because I'm not patient.

Baby Jesus Birthday Party

Sorry for the belated Post. I know how excited y'all were.

So every Christmas Eve my family has a Happy Birthday Baby Jesus Party. Every year it seems to get larger and more wild.

We start out by Carbo-loading... I mean eating dinner. (Adult Table)

Kids Table.. Weird we just keep adding to the kids table. None of us are graduating to the big table.

First up is the White Elephant Gift Exchange. We wrap up a funny gift. Either from a thrift shop or a basemet. Usually all of the gifts are left at my moms house.

My sis lucked out and got a Sweet Saved by the Bell Tee

A Beautiful Wedding Album

My mom got a used cast

Next up was the Milk Jug Skewer Game.. Best out of 10 skewers wins

My brother in-law's dad won.. He was on Fire!!!

Next up.. a new game.. Santa's Cookie Face-Off
Oreo has to travel from your forehead to mouth only using face muscles. Best time wins!!

Here is the Trophey

The Winner was my Sister Meghan!!!

And finally.. The Game that Started it all. The Cotton Ball Game
Blindfolded the person that gets the best out of 30 cotton balls into the bowl wins. You can not tip the bowl and shovel either.

Very please to announce that my Husband won!

Good thing it's one night a year... it's exhausting!!!

My brother Brady

This is one of the best nights of the year. We all look forward to this more than Christmas morning itself... Plus We Love Loving Jesus!!!

Poppy's Shower

Last night I threw my Best Friend SaraRuth a Baby Shower
It was held Downtown Charleston in a Beautiful Home on Chalmers Street. All I had to do was cook up all the food and set it up. Here are a couple of the details. Sorry the pictures aren't the best quality. I loved Creating the Menu. I wanted it to be mostly finger foods that went well with the wine we served. Below is most of the food. Matt was still bringing some in for me.

A little bunting banner I made for her Nursery
I made a Hot Chocolate Station. It was a chilly night in Charleston, so hopefully it kept everyone warm on their walk home. Caramel corn to snack on too!

I made a clothesline for Poppy

In lieu of a card, I asked the guests to bring their favorite childhood book

All of the pretty ladies
There was even a baby shark at the Party I'm so happy I did the shower last night. After SaraRuth's ultrasound this morning, the doctor informed her that she would be having her baby TODAY! She is scheduled for a C-Section at 4:30pm today. Can't wait to meet little Poppy!!
