Reflecting on this date

Finding it hard to believe that it's been 8 years since the 9/11 attacks. I will always remember where I was when I heard the news. I was a Senior in High School and our Vice Principal announced to the school that 'Our Great Nation is Under Attack.' I immediately remember my friend started weeping because her uncle worked in the Pentagon. The upperclassmen were escorted to the library to watch live footage. It is a day I will never forget.

Now 8 years later I feel our country is even more divided. How could we go from being such a Great and Proud Nation to one that is literally tearing at the seams? So many people are quick to blame President Bush. All I can say is get your nose out of People magazine and learn the facts. At least the rest of the world was listening to us and respecting us while he was President. Now they will not even shake Obama's hand. A total slap to our entire nation.

My mom is currently in Washington supporting the largest tea party to date. Tomorrow they are walking on the mall. She has been working as a RN basically since she graduated college and has worked for U of Michigan Hospital for almost 20 years now. Of course the entire hospital or any health care worker is against the Health care plan. Because if it passes level of patient service, advancement of medical technology and of course going into tremendous debt will certainly follow. Basically I am proud of her and what she is fighting for. Not for only the health care plan but the other corruption that is happening in D.C. As her t-shirt reads:

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." -Thomas Jefferson

May we never forget what foundation and patriotism this country was built on. It is; We the People... NOT We the Followers of Obama... JUST SAYING.
Here is a pic showing us enjoying everyday American Freedom. Note: we own the home, Mason Jar full of Sweet Tea and the Stars and Stripes waving Proudly. And I will not apologize for what I have earned. I am proud to live in this country. I just hope my children can have a similar upbringing.

God Bless America.
